Find Us
We're just off the coast road between Bridport & Weymouth

Our address is:  paper-and-string ltd,  The Old Barn, Cogden Farm, Burton Bradstock, DT6 4RN

Our telephone number is:  01308 898239

What3words: ballpoint.finds.reinforce

Coming from Burton Bradstock you will see the National Trust car park for Cogden Beach on the right hand side...drive past the beach car park, you'll drive up a slight hill and the only 'landmark' is a telegraph pole.  You can turn left here but it's quite tight and hard to spot so go on for about 20m and the wider entrance is easier to find!  Drive down the drive, bear right at the fork, and you'll see the barn in front of you.
Coming from Weymouth you'll drive past Othana on your left hand side and you'll see a 50 sign, the entrance is on the right just after the 50 sign.

Bus: the X53 stops at Cogden Beach car park.  You can walk from the bus stop to the barn around the edge of a field. There is no footpath and it can get quite muddy and the grass grows quite long, but it's not far and will take 5-10 minutes max.

Parking
We have plenty of parking right outside the barn.

The parking area is off the unmade road.  It is grass and it can get wet and water logged in bad weather.  The unmade road is rough - there are potholes and bumpy bits - take it slow and look out for the holes and the wildlife - we often see deer and hares and there are lots of birds, they like to take dust baths when it's hot and sunny.

Farm
Our barn is in the middle of a working farm

Please be aware that the farm can be quite busy.  You may meet farm vehicles on the drive - tractors always have right of way here!  Please don't park your car on the track, tractors need a lot of room to get through.

Access
The shop is all on ground level.

The unmade road out the front is quite rough and uneven.  We have a concrete drive which slopes to the main door.  There is a small wooden door step into the building.  Once inside there is a gentle slope into the barn and then it is all on one level.  The flooring is concrete.  If you need to park on the concrete drive rather than the grass area please phone in advance and we'll make sure it is clear for you.

Toilets
We do not have any public toilets

The nearest toilets are in Burton Bradstock (just down the road) opposite the petrol station.  You can park out the front and pay a visit.  Strange as it seems we don't have insurance to allow you to use our staff toilets.  I am sorry about this.

Dogs
We love dogs BUT dogs are not allowed in the shop

We have two rescue dogs (Lila and Pebbles) Lila is from Romania and is a mixed breed - she has a lot of Mioritic Sheep Dog in her and her nature is to guard her property and her pack.  She loves people but she can become quite stressed with strange dogs near her property.  I hope you understand.  Pebbles picks up on Lila's stress and also guards with her.  They both love people and would love to meet you all.  Our dogs will be at the barn but we have zoned off areas where they can and can't get to so rest assured the shop area is a dog free zone.

We're collecting donations for project Linus.  They would like cotton fabric, quilt wadding and knitting wool.  Volunteers then turn the donations into quilts and blankets for children who need them,
We're accepting donations in the shop, if you'd rather post them that works too!  Or you can buy some fabric from our online shop and email to let us know which fabrics in your order you'd like to donate.
